Dr. Baptista is a seasoned psychologist with a demonstrated history of working in diverse mental health settings including intensive outpatient, inpatient, and community psychiatry, and private practice. Expertly skilled in Psychological Assessment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Group Therapy, Behavioral Health, and Differential diagnostic assessments.

Dr. Baptista has an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami. During her doctoral internship at a Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) she honed her CBT modalities to treat traumatized men and women of the armed forces and she received an Early Career Award for Distinguished Contributions to Practice in Psychology. Following internship, Postdoctoral positions at both VAMC and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston offered extensive opportunities to add to her modalities of treating anxiety disorders across the life span with trainings in EMDR and Exposure therapy. Dr. Baptista left the Boston area in 2008, joining Columbia University Medical Center as a specialist in treating adults with anxiety and mood disorders at the Columbia Day Treatment Program. She developed evidenced based group therapy programs for adults with PTSD and OCD and opened a private practice in Manhattan. She continues her work in private practice and is currently affiliated with Columbia Medical Center programs and providers. Her therapeutic approach predominantly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) modalities and supportive therapy. Dr. Baptista speaks Spanish and Portuguese, has extensive multicultural training, and offers multilingual therapeutic services both in person and via TeleHealth for individuals in different states and across the globe.
